Support the Mission
Your support
funds real
work.
Our mission is to change how young people experience mental health support — working on root issues, not just symptoms. When you support Scendent, you're funding scholarships, community programmes, and the infrastructure that keeps young adults supported.
Before you give — please read this
Scendent Limited is a New Zealand limited liability company. We are not a registered charity. We are not registered with Charities Services under the Charities Act 2005, and we are not an approved donee organisation under the Income Tax Act 2007.
That means your contribution is not tax-deductible, it does not qualify for the 33.33% donation tax credit, and we cannot issue an IRD donation receipt. We applied for charitable registration and it was not approved.
We've put this at the top rather than the bottom because you deserve to decide with the facts in front of you. If a tax credit matters to you, please give to a registered charity instead — you can find one at register.charities.govt.nz. We'd rather lose a contribution than have someone give under a misunderstanding.
If you want to back the work regardless, welcome. Full detail in our Contributions Policy.
Scholarship Fund
Helps remove financial barriers to professional mental health care — contributing toward therapy sessions, counselling, and wellbeing programmes for young adults who can't afford to wait or pay.
Community Programmes
Funds events and challenges — like the 720 Scendent Challenge — that build real connection, accountability, and momentum for young people working on themselves.
Advocate Training
Trains Scenders to become mental health advocates in their own communities.
Content & Destigmatisation
Creates media that shifts culture — normalising mental health conversations for young adults across Aotearoa and beyond.
Bring MHFA training to your workplace
Book a Mental Health First Aid Aotearoa workshop for your team or community — proceeds fund Scendent's youth programmes.
Three ways to back the work.
Every one of these funds the same programmes. Pick whichever suits you.
01 · Buy the gear
Every purchase from the store funds programme delivery. You get something you'll actually wear.
Shop ↗02 · Book a workshop
Mental Health First Aid and community sessions for your team, school or organisation. Proceeds fund the scholarship.
Enquire ↗03 · Contribute directly
Want to give directly, sponsor a programme, or offer in-kind support like venues or services? Get in touch and we'll set it up.
Get in touch ↗Not tax-deductible — Scendent is not a registered charity or donee organisation. See our Contributions Policy.
Our scholarship fund helps remove financial barriers to mental health care. If cost is stopping you or someone you know from getting support, get in touch below.
Wellbeing Scholarship
Contributes toward sessions with a qualified practitioner. Open to young adults aged 16–30 in Aotearoa New Zealand. Awards depend on available funds and are assessed case by case — we'll always be straight with you about what we can and can't cover.
Enquire ↗Programme Grant
Supports youth-led mental health initiatives, community groups, and organisations working with young adults in Aotearoa. Subject to available funds.
Enquire ↗Scendent is not a health provider. We do not provide counselling, treatment or clinical advice. If you need support right now, call or text 1737 — free, 24/7 — or 111 in an emergency. See our Directory of Help notice.
Because we're not on the Charities Register, our accounts aren't publicly filed there. That's a real transparency gap, so we close it ourselves.
Any contributor can request a plain-English summary of how contributions were used in a given year. Email scendentofficial@gmail.com and we will provide one. That's a standing commitment, not a maybe.
We don't publish a fixed percentage split, because we'd have to make one up. Allocation is decided by the directors based on programme need each period, and we'd rather tell you that honestly than print a pie chart we can't stand behind.
Questions about where the money goes? Email scendentofficial@gmail.com — we'll answer. Full detail in our Contributions Policy.
